About

The Pre-school offers our children a broad range of interesting and educational activities within the setting, in addition to events outside the setting. These can include walks around the village, visits to the nearby playground and outings to local amenities. The children also enjoy visits from the local police, the fire brigade and parents who come in and talk about their occupations. Our staff members are experienced, caring and highly dedicated individuals whose understanding of the children and the community to which they belong is unquestionable. They strive to ensure that each child enjoys being a part of the Stanford Pre-school 'family'. Additionally, the professionalism of the staff enables parents to feel confident about their ability to provide the best possible care and education for the children entrusted into their charge.

Children may enrol on our waiting list at any time either via the Enrolment section of the website or through a form collected from Pre-school. We have intakes three times a year, in September, January and after Easter dependent upon spaces available. Children usually start the term that they turn three or sometimes the term before.

As a member of the Early Years Alliance, Stanford Pre-school aims to provide the highest quality education and care for all our children. We aim to offer a welcome to each individual child and family and to provide a warm and caring environment within which all children can learn and develop as they play. We believe children and parents are entitled to expect courtesy and prompt careful attention to their needs and wishes. Our intention is to work in partnership with parents and the community generally and we welcome suggestions on how to improve Stanford Pre-school at any time. A Comments/Suggestions Book & box is readily available at the setting for parents/carers to provide feedback to the staff and committee on the standard of care provided for their children.

work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop;
add to the life and well-being of its local community; and
offer children and their parents a service which promotes equality and values diversity.

For our children

As a member of Stanford Pre-school, your child:

is in a safe and stimulating environment;
is given generous care and attention, because of our high ratio of adults to children;
has the chance to join with other children and adults to live, play, work and learn together;
is helped to take forward her/his learning and development by being helped to build on what she/he already knows and can do;
has a personal key person who makes sure your child makes satisfying progress;
is in a Pre-school which sees you as a partner in helping your child to learn and develop; and
is in a Pre-school in which parents help to shape the service it offers.

Meet the Staff

Nina Stillion

MANAGER
NNEB(level 3), Child Protection Officer, E-Safety Representative
I qualified in childcare back in 1990 and have worked and managed a variety of settings. The Pre-school being managed by a group of parent volunteers makes it truly special and keeps the children's well-being firmly as it's priority.

I originally started on the committee as a parent and then retrained, went to college and completed my level 2 and 3 and have been a staff member for over five years. I'm extremely passionate about the care and development that we give the children in our setting.

I've lived in Stanford for over 20 years. I have two grown up sons and assortment of cats. I've worked at the Pre-school since 2005 and I've seen many changes to it over the years. I really enjoying working at Pre-School seeing the progression of the children that are with us

I am Jude Bond and I have lived locally with my family for over 30 years. As my 2 grown up children are now living away from home I am enjoying the new challenges and pleasures of working in a busy environment and being part of the preschool team. I'm passionate about being outdoors and hope to encourage children to engage with their natural world.
